Welcome to our initiative aimed at making Bastrop the healthiest city in Texas! The Bastrop TeamFit Challenge is more than just a competition; it's a movement to revolutionize health and wellness in our community, starting with the workplace.

Competition Overview

Here's How it Works:

Employers as Catalysts for Health:

Employers across Bastrop are invited to form teams of employee-athletes, turning the typical workplace into a hub of health and fitness. It’s a unique opportunity to shift the narrative from work as a barrier to health to work as a driver of wellness.

Team Formation & Leadership:

Each team, led by a chosen captain, will navigate through a series of events, deciding on the best fit for their members. This approach not only fosters team spirit but also encourages strategy and collaboration.

Training Season – Building Momentum:

From registration until

April 19th, teams will engage in a dedicated training period. This isn't just about physical preparation; it's about integrating healthy habits and tasks into daily life, for which teams will earn points.

The Main Event – A Display of Fitness and Teamwork:

The culmination of this journey is on April 19th, an Olympic-style event day where teams will compete in various athletic challenges. Points are up for grabs not only for participation but also based on performance in each event.

Celebrating Success – Recognizing the Fittest:

At the finale, we will honor top-performing employee-athletes with medals in each category. Furthermore, we will celebrate 'Bastrop's Fittest Employers' in each division, recognizing those who have truly embraced and exemplified the spirit of health and fitness.

Join us in this groundbreaking challenge as we work together to uplift health and wellness in Bastrop, setting a new standard for employer-led community health initiatives.

Employer Divisions

Teams will compete against other teams whose employers are of the same size. This makes the competition fair for participation points and gives access to a deeper employee-athlete pool.

Employers can choose a division by the total number of employees or by number of employees within a department/branch/campus.

Division Options:
Small: <25 employees
Medium: 25-100 employees
Large: 101+ employees

Teams

A team will consist of at least four individuals; more is encouraged.

One person must be the Team Captain

The team must have at least one person in each category: Strength, Endurance, Athletics, and Body Composition.

Teams do not need to participate in each event within a category.

Team members may participate in multiple events.

Employers are allowed to have more than one team. For example, if they have multiple locations or departments, they can have one team per location/department.
